Fighters of the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK) announced that they had crossed the Russian-Ukrainian border for the third time, the BBC reports. Russian and Ukrainian channels talk about an attack on the border with Ukraine by a “Ukrainian tank”. The regional authorities initially declared that they had suffered an “informational attack”, then adopted the narratives of Russian channels.

The RDK group calls itself a Russian volunteer formation that is part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

RDK has already stated twice that its fighters crossed the Russian border.

This time three five-second videos were released. The first shows several men in military uniform standing in front of a signpost to the village of Bezlyudovka, Belgorod region.

On the second, armed men near a signpost in the village of Churovychy, Bryansk region.

The third shows armed men near a signpost in the village of Lyubimova, Kursk region.

Judging by the video footage, the saboteurs carried out the attacks at night.

Putin condemned the “terrorist attack”

The first crossing of the RDK was carried out on March 2 in the villages of the Bryansk region. Russian authorities said that saboteurs killed a local resident, and Vladimir Putin called the event a terrorist attack.

From the beginning of the events in the Bryansk region, the Ukrainian authorities declared that they had nothing to do with the incident and did not send any “sabotage and reconnaissance group” to Russia, calling the story with the RDK group in Russia a deliberate provocation.

The governor of the Belgorod region of Russia reported on Telegram on Monday morning that an explosive device was dropped from a drone in the city of Nova Tavolzhanka.

“In Novaya Tavolzhanka, an explosive device was dropped near a private residential building with the help of a drone. No injuries or damage were reported. The drone itself fell 100 meters from residential buildings,” Vyacheslav Gladkov wrote, Reuters reports.

Neither the RDK’s statements nor the information provided by the Russian official could be independently verified.

Is a Ukrainian tank attacking Belgorod?

There are also reports of shelling in the village of Kozinka, where, according to the authorities, shells hit residential buildings.

The Ukrainian Telegram channel Pandora’s Box published a video in which a Ukrainian tank allegedly penetrated the territory of the Russian checkpoint “Grayvoron”.

It is also claimed that the checkpoint was bombed and fighting is going on around it.

This is also reported by the Russian Telegram Shot channel with reference to unidentified sources, reporting on “battles with a Ukrainian tank” near the village of Dronovka on the border of the Belgorod region.

There is no official confirmation, but the governor of Belgorod announced an “informational attack” on the region and called on residents to calm down.

Later, the governor of the region announced that “a Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine entered the territory of the Graivoron district of the Belgorod region.”

“The armed forces of Russia, together with the Border Service, the Russian Guard and the FSB, are taking the necessary measures to eliminate the enemy,” the governor wrote.

Earlier, the Russian publication Baza, which is associated with Russian special services, published an image similar to a Ukrainian tank attacking a Russian border post.

Footage of Russian planes taking off from the ground to counter the actions of the “Russian Legion of Freedom” appeared on social networks.

“Deliberate provocation”

This is not the first time that such a plot has been supported on some Russian channels. Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Administration of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi, said in March that “this is a classic challenge.”

“Russia wants to scare its own people in order to somehow justify an attack on another country and the growth of poverty in a war year. Meanwhile, the partisan movement in the Russian Federation is becoming stronger and more aggressive. Be afraid of your partisans…” Podoliak wrote on Twitter.

By the way, the most famous Russian propagandist Volodymyr Solovyov wrote on Monday morning in his Telegram channel that “the Belgorod region is subject to massive bombing by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”

Adviser to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Anton Gerashchenko, wrote in his Telegram channel that the forces of the Russian Legion of Freedom are attacking Russian forces in the Bolhorod region, which is on the border with Ukraine.

In March, the Supreme Court of Russia upheld the lawsuit of Prosecutor General Ihor Krasnov to recognize the “Russian Legion of Freedom” as a terrorist organization, reports RIA Novosti, citing The Moscow Times.

The Russian Legion of Freedom, which is part of the Ukrainian armed forces, was founded a little over a year ago with the goal of liberating occupied regions of Ukraine and overthrowing the “dictatorial regime of Vladimir Putin,” according to its manifesto. (Photo source DreamsTime).
