Chronicles
Gates met Antonova in her 20s in 2010 and started playing bridge with her.
According to documents obtained by the WSJ, Antonova was trying to raise capital to set up online “training” bridge. Through Boris Nikolic, a close adviser to Gates, she was able to meet Epstein, who helped her raise money for her professional aspirations.
Antonova and Nikolic met with Epstein at his New York home in November 2013, where the Russian presented her with offers asking for a sum. half a million dollars. Ultimately, Antonova told the WSJ, the former financial advisor did not invest in her venture.
However, a year later, she herself ended up in an apartment given to her by Epstein, however, without compensation, as she claims. In fact, he paid her to take a programming course. “Epstein agreed to pay and paid the school directly. They gave nothing in return. I don’t know why he did it. When I asked him, he said something like he is rich and wants to help people whenever he can,” she explained to the newspaper.
While Antonova was trying to build her business, Epstein also tried to start his own charitable foundation with JP Morgan.which would require hundreds of millions of dollars to be invested by the super-rich.
The foundation will be a way to restore Epstein’s reputation after he was charged with sex crimes and later, in 2008, pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation of a minor.
Documents found in the newspaper show how The Epstein Foundation depended on Gates’ support.
In emails sent to JP Morgan executives, Epstein attempted to speak out. as a close adviser to Gates, though the once-powerful stockbroker didn’t mention him in the emails.
In 2017, when Antonova-Gates’ extramarital relationship ended, Epstein emailed him asking for a refund of the money he had paid for her lessons.
“The tone of the message indicated that Mr. Epstein knew about the relationship and was able to expose itsources said, ”the WSJ report notes.
Two years later, in 2019, Epstein was prosecuted by federal prosecutors for sex trafficking in minors. He denied the charges, but remained in prison without the right to post bail. A few months later he was found dead in his cell.
