China’s Long March 2C rocket has successfully launched three satellites into low Earth orbit, China’s Aeronautical Science and Technology Agency (CASC) said on Sunday.
Beijing has entered the race to provide it and satellite communications, so as not to have the slightest dependence on Western services.
The launch of the rocket with payload took place at 16:00 Beijing time (11:00 Greek time) from the Jiuquan Cosmodrome.

Two Macau Science-1 satellites went into orbit to study the Earth’s magnetosphere and the Lojia-2-01 instrument to test new radar aperture synthesis technology used in Earth remote sensing, as well as technologies to improve navigation systems.
The Long March 2C two-stage launch vehicle was designed and manufactured by the China Rocket Research Institute (CALT). It is capable of launching up to 3850 kg of payload into low Earth orbit, up to 1400 kg into sun-synchronous orbit and up to 1250 kg into geotransport orbit.
