OUR Poland called the Russian ambassador today about an incident involving a Russian fighter jet and a Polish border guard over the Black Sea in early Maysaid the representative of the Polish Foreign Ministry.
The incident raised their air patrol units NATO to the highest level of combat readiness and exacerbated the already hostile relations between Russia and Poland, which is a staunch supporter of Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.
The May 5 incident occurred when a Polish border plane patrolling on behalf of Frontex was harassed by a Russian fighter jet over the Black Sea, Romania and Poland said.
“We strongly condemn the provocative and aggressive behavior of the Russian side, which constitutes a serious international incident,” Ministry spokesman Lukas Jasina said on Twitter. The Russian Embassy in Warsaw was not available for comment.
