Tucker Carlson: Controversial Host Hosts His Show on Twitter

Renowned American host Tucker Carlson, who left Fox News last month, announced on Tuesday that he would be bringing his show “soon” via Twitter.

Conservative broadcaster Fox News and Carlson agreed to part ways in April, shortly after Fox Corp reached an agreement with Dominion, a company that makes electronic vote counting devices.

Dominion is seeking $1.6 billion in damages from Fox News over its allegations that the 2020 presidential election was rigged to harm former US President Donald Trump. Ultimately, Fox News agreed to pay her $787.5 million.

Carlson played a central role in this affair. Although Fox News did not disclose the reason for the host’s departure, it seems that the main reason was the release of a series of his messages. In them, Carlson indicated that he had doubts about the allegations of electoral fraud, although he vigorously defended them in his broadcasts.

His show Tucker Carlson Tonight averaged 3.3 million viewers in 2022, making it the most watched late-night show on American cable television.

The host was known for his extreme positions and penchant for promoting conspiracy theories.

“Soon we will bring you a new version of the show that we have been doing for the last six and a half years on Twitter,” Carlson said in a video posted on the social networking site. “We will offer you other things that we will talk about. But for now, we’re just grateful to be here.”

“There aren’t many platforms that allow freedom of expression,” Carlson said in the video. “The last in the world and the only one is Twitter.”

In a video posted yesterday, Carlson, 53, accused all media outlets of misleading public opinion and behaving “like propaganda organizations.”

“We did not sign any agreements,” Elon Musk emphasized yesterday. “Tucker is subject to the same rules and rewards as everyone else who creates content,” Twitter says.
