A witness told Reuters that shortly after Khan passed the gates of the Islamabad High Court, a group of commandos entered the building. According to other sources, the arrest took place near the court building.

“Imran Khan has been arrested in the Qadir Trust case,” Islamabad police said on their official Twitter account, referring to a corruption case involving the former prime minister.
However, Khan’s political party PTI reported a “kidnapping”with MP Fawad Sodry speaking about “occupation” of the court Pakistani commandos and “torture of lawyers”.
“He went to the process of taking fingerprints and photographs, and from there he was taken away by special forces,” Musarat Jamshed Chima from RTI reports.
Khan, former cricket star, he was removed from the post of prime minister last year in April, after a vote of no confidence. During this period, he campaigned for early elections in October. In March, a warrant for his arrest was canceled after clashes broke out between his supporters and policemen who had come to his home to arrest him.
