Kremlin announced that the window to renew his agreement Black Sea For flakes closes and that negotiations between the parties are continuing, but to no avail.
OUR Russia has repeatedly said it is preparing to exit the deal on May 18 if its demands to ease restrictions on its own agricultural exports are not met.
Kremlin representative Dmitry Peskov he told reporters that the part of the deal concerning Russia’s interests has not been implemented, but the dialogue continues.
“Russia’s position is well known, and it is that the agreement has been extended for two months,” Peskov said. “The terms of the agreement on the agro-industrial complex of Russia are not being fulfilled.”
Peskov also said he could not say in what form, time and place the talks would resume after a Ukrainian source told Reuters that the parties to the deal would meet on Wednesday.
“Contacts continue, but so far they have not brought any results,” he said.
Russia, among other demands it has put forward, said it wants the state agricultural bank Rosselkhozbank to be reconnected to the SWIFT international financial messaging system and the Togliatti-Odessa ammonia pipeline to be restarted.
The West says its sanctions do not target Russia’s agricultural sector, but Moscow claims its agricultural exports have been hit by sanctions on its banks, as well as supply chain and insurance sanctions.
