US President Joe Biden faced many jokes about his age with humor at the traditional American Foreign Press Correspondents Gala Dinner.

Speaking at the dinner, Biden jokingly mentioned 92-year-old media mogul and Fox News owner Rupert Murdoch. According to him, Murdoch makes him look like British pop singer Harry Styles. “Why don’t I love someone who makes me look like Harry Styles in their eyes?” he asked with a laugh.

The President of the United States, commenting on jokes about his age, told 2,600 guests that he liked the First Amendment, which guarantees freedom of the press, because James Madison, who established it in the 18th century, “was a good friend of his.”

The Daily Show’s main speaker and correspondent, Roy Wood Jr., joked about the renomination of the 80-year-old Biden, who could still be president at 86, while there are strikes in France to raise the retirement age to 64.

“In France, people are rioting because they don’t want to work until they are 64. Meanwhile in America, we have an 80-year-old man asking us to work for another four years,” Wood said.

This year’s press concert was attended by journalists wrongfully imprisoned for doing their jobs, such as Evan Gershkovich of the Wall Street Journal, who is imprisoned in Russia. “We are working every day to secure his release,” Biden said. “We are looking for ways to bring him home, we remain confident.”
