The police advise drivers to plan their return from the May Day mini-holiday from the Black Sea coast to the capital very carefully, given that heavy traffic is expected on the A2 route, given the large number of tourists in the past few days in the resorts.
The Traffic Information Center of the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police informs that to avoid waiting in queues, you can choose alternative routes to the A2 highway, namely:
* DN 2A Constanta – Harshova – Slobozia – Urzichen – DN 2 – Bucharest;
* A2 – Feteşti or Drajna – DN 3A – Lehliu-Gară – DN 3 – Fundulea – Bucharest;
* DN 3 Constanța – Murfatlar – Adamclisi – Island (ferry crossing) – Calaras – DN 21 Calaras – Drina – A2 Drina – Bucharest (or from Calaras Municipality – DN 3 – Leliu Gara – Fundula – Bucharest).
Depending on the development of road values, on May 1 there is a possibility that the traffic police will take measures to reroute traffic at certain intervals and on some kilometer sections from the A2 motorway to these alternative roads, the quoted source said.
“It is also important to note that in the second half of Monday, when the traffic value on the A2 Bucharest-Constanța highway will be increased, the traffic police may redirect traffic or impose traffic restrictions also in the direction of the coast. , therefore, we recommend drivers to consider detour routes to reduce the time spent in traffic jams and reach their destination safely,” said the message of the Road Information Center, as quoted by Agerpres.
In this regard, police officers recommend that drivers show respect for other road users, informing about the intention to change the lane or direction of traffic after the appropriate insurance. Also, drivers should avoid risky overtaking and increase the safe distance between vehicles.
