
A research rocket launched early Monday by the Swedish Space Corporation (SSC) from the Esrange Space Center in the north of the country. Swedenwas damaged and fell into it Norwegian Earth.
The rocket rose to a height of 250 kilometers, where experiments are being carried out in zero gravity. Due to a malfunction, it crashed in the mountains, at an altitude of 1000 meters and at a distance of 10 kilometers from the nearest settlement, Philip Olson, head of the SSC press service, explained. According to him, “when something goes wrong” the governments of Sweden, Norway and other countries are informed.
The SSC said it was working to recover the missile’s payload and launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
