“I’m concerned about what happened,” Joe Biden told reporters shortly after meeting Irish President Michael Higgins in Dublin. “There is an ongoing investigation” that appears to be nearing completion, Biden added.

The U.S. Department of Justice opened a criminal investigation after the documents were leaked online, detailing Washington’s views on the war in Ukraine and appearing to point to intelligence gathering on close U.S. allies.

The Pentagon assessed that this disclosure poses a “very serious risk” to American national security.

The authenticity of these photos, which are shared on various Internet sites, has not been publicly confirmed by the authorities and could not be independently verified.

Who would be the author of Pentagon Leaks

According to the Washington Post, behind this leak is a young man who worked at a military base and shared the information with a private online group.

Using the pseudonym “OG”, he regularly published for several months hundreds of pages copied from the documents of the military base where he worked, according to the US publication, which added that the person interviewed declined to specify which base he was referring to.

Documents published on the Internet reveal the concern of American special services about the viability of the Ukrainian counteroffensive against Russian forces due to problems with training and supply, Agerpres notes.

The document, seen by AFP, also reveals US concerns about Ukraine’s ability to continue to defend itself against Russian strikes.
