
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said a comprehensive reform of the UN Security Council is “an urgent need” as he spoke after an iftar ceremony at the headquarters of the ruling Justice and Development Party in Ankara, Anadolu news agency reported.
“The world order, in which the fate of mankind is decided by only five countries, is inefficient. A comprehensive reform of the UN Security Council is urgently needed,” Erdogan said.
Recall, Türkiye promised to support the Greek candidacy for the post of a non-permanent member of the Security Council.
Regarding Russia’s war against Ukraine, the Turkish President expressed hope for the possibility of establishing a “just peace”.
According to him, this will allow “both sides to find an honorable way out.” [από την κατάσταση] and he will bring the region out of the maelstrom into which it has been drawn.”
