
Three cadets died under mysterious circumstances at the Military Academy near St. Petersburg, reports the oldest daily newspaper of Russia, Izvestia.
Three were found dead on the morning of Tuesday, March 28, in the barracks on the territory of the unit in Sertolovo, Leningrad Region.
The newlyweds returned from vacation the day before and were in the military unit in the evening. Later, together with their colleagues, they went to their rooms and slept.
The next morning, they developed symptoms of an epileptic seizure, including foaming at the mouth, Novaya Gazeta reports, citing reports from several popular Telegram news channels.
Medics who arrived at the scene declared death. Visual inspection of the dead cadets revealed no external injuries.
The cadets were serving under professional contracts from 2022, and Russian media reported that they had volunteered for the armed forces before partial mobilization was announced on September 21.
Two cadets were from Nalchik and Vladivostok. Russian doctors are determining the cause of death.
