
Two people died and three were injured in a fire at a hotel in a suburb of Istanbul on Friday morning. The fire broke out in a seven-story hotel in the Pendik district of the city and quickly spread from floor to floor.
According to the state television channel TRT, this is a hotel on Erol Kaya Street in the Asian side of Istanbul.
Firefighters and paramedics arrived at the scene, but two of the victims did not survive. Two of the victims were hotel residents who jumped from balconies to save themselves.
According to local authorities, the fire started on the fifth floor of the building.
The head of the Pendik municipal government assured that the investigation into the causes of the deadly fire is ongoing.
