The website of “Belaya Rus” claims that it gathers 200,000 “caring patriots”. It should be noted that “Belaya Rus” was initially intended to support the political course of Alexander Lukashenko.

A new pro-government party “Belaya Rus” was established in Belarus, created on the basis of a public association of the same name. The corresponding decision was taken at the founding congress of “Belaya Rus” in Minsk on Saturday, March 18th.

On the same day, the party’s program and statute were approved. The head of the NGO “Belaya Rus” Oleg Romanov was elected chairman of the new political organization.

The public association “Belaya Rus” was created in November 2007, in December of the same year it was registered by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic. The association’s website says it brings together “200,000 sympathetic patriots” – more than 8,500 primary organizations. It was especially noted that “Belaya Rus” was initially intended to support the political course” of the Belarusian ruler Alexander Lukashenko.

This year in Belarus, changes were made to the laws on the activities of political parties and public associations. Among other things, they provide for the possibility of liquidating a party for war propaganda, terrorist or extremist activities, activities that harm the state and (or) public interests, as well as receiving funds and other assets from foreign sources.
