The heavy rains of the previous days caused landslide in her community of San Clemente Californiaforcing the authorities to issue an evacuation order for houses on the edge of the mountainside.

Drone footage shows that some houses are literally on the edge of a cliff. The pool is half “hanging” in the air, and garden furniture and pots have fallen from a height of several meters.

C.J. Smith, 41, whose home is in immediate danger, compared the moment of the landslide to an earthquake. He acknowledged that the owners were aware of the risk in the event of a landslide. “The view is beautiful. We thought it was worth the risk,” he said.

Storms on the US West Coast have caused major problems, especially in Orange County, California. Although the rains have stopped today, forecasters warn that another storm is expected in the region next week.
