The Prime Minister said today that the UK has adequately capitalized banks. Rishi Sunakreassuring ministers and officials who have previously stressed that there is no concern about systemic risk after the collapse Silicon Valley Bank.
“Our banks are well capitalized, liquidity is strong,” Sunak told ITV during a visit to the US.
“I think the Governor of the Bank of England and the Chancellor of the Exchequer have been right about this and made it clear that our banks are actually well capitalized and not worried about systemic risk.”
