Made famous by Captain Corelli’s mandolin, the island even surpassed Lefkada, which was in first place last year with an overall score of 85%, with the poll showing it was the only island to score 5/5 in the tranquility category. . “Frenzy” Mykonos was in last place with 55%, mostly due to crowds and high prices.

Tellingly, 4.5 million Britons visited Greece in 2022, surpassing for the first time the number of German tourists in the country, who have held the lead for decades.

This trend is expected to continue in 2023 as Greece remains in the top three tourist destinations after Spain and France.

Of course, there are plenty of UK articles that have been warning British tourists to book as early as possible since the beginning of the year as prices have risen by 20%.

At the same time, just yesterday, the official website of the British government (uk.gov) advised British travelers to be especially careful if they visit Greece during this period, due to the situation in the country after the Tempi accident, emphasizing mainly strikes and demonstrations of the state sectors run throughout the territory.
