High Commissioner United States for human rights Walker Turk warned today that human rights progress in recent decades has been halted or even reversed, citing “irrationality” invasion of Russia V Ukraine as a current example of oppression.
“Much of the progress made in decades has been halted or even reversed in some things…“, said Turk in his speech on the first day of the meeting of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, which was attended by more than 100 ministers and heads of state.
He urged countries to work to bridge their differences and build “a new global consensus on human rights.”
