President of France Emmanuel Macron assured his Ukrainian colleague Vladimir Zelensky that he would support Kyiv’s peace plan “in the international arena,” in a telephone conversation between the two leaders.
Macron reiterates his support 10 point peace plan Zelensky suggested and assured him that he would “support this initiative in the international arena, in the next diplomatic meetings,” the Elysee Palace said.
The two presidents also referred to the call made (on Friday, at the Munich Security Conference) to European partners and NATO for military reinforcement and support for Ukraine and its people.
On Twitter, Zelensky welcomed his “continued friendly dialogue” with Macron and confirmed that they discussed “implementing the peace plan.”
The message came after an interview Macron gave to three French media outlets in which he said he wanted Moscow to “defeat” Ukraine, not Russia.
