
c.g. NATO, Jens Stoltenbergreiterated that the Alliance must ensure that Ukraine will receive the weapons he needs “to win this war”, while he noted that Russian chairman, Vladimir Putinis not preparing for peace, but, on the contrary, “preparing for a new war.”
“We see no signs that President Putin is preparing for peace. We see the opposite, he is preparing for a new war, for new attacks. This is an all-out war of attrition, so the battle is on a logistical level,” he added, referring to Ukraine’s need for more weapons and talks about the possible supply of aircraft to the war-torn country.
G. Stoltenberg’s statements were made in Brussels, where a meeting of NATO defense ministers is taking place.
For his part, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said the alliance reaffirms its support for a free Ukraine and stressed that Kiev has pressing needs.
“This common resolve (NATO) will maintain its momentum Ukrainian in the coming weeks,” he said.
