US: FBI searches Mike Pence’s home for ‘forgotten’ classified documents

The FBI ransacked the home of its former vice president today. USA Mike Pencewith his consent, after documents marked “confidential” were found there last month.

On January 18, Pence’s attorney, Greg Jacobs, told the National Archives that secret recordings were found in this Indianapolis home. The files were then turned over to the FBI.

ex-president Donald Trump and incumbent president Joe Biden were also investigated for allegedly hiding secret files from previous terms. For Biden, the investigation concerns the period when he was Barack Obama’s vice president.

Prosecutor Jack Smith is investigating whether Trump or his associates obstructed a Justice Department investigation into the suppression of thousands of records after Trump left the White House in January 2021.

Attorney General Merrick Garland also appointed Special Counsel Robert Herr to investigate Joe Biden after the Democratic President’s legal advisers uncovered classified documents at the University of Pennsylvania think tank.

Biden retained office there after his term as vice president ended before he was elected president of the United States. Documents were also found at his home in Wilmington.
