If confirmed, this visit by Volodymyr Zelenskyi will be the first to the EU capital since the beginning of the Russian military offensive against Ukraine on February 24, 2022.

A source in the European Parliament spoke about the “probability of organizing an extraordinary plenary meeting on Thursday, February 9, with the participation of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi.” Two more sources in the parliament, under the cover of anonymity, confirmed this information.

The Ukrainian leader benefits from a “permanent invitation” to Brussels, summed up the spokesman of the President of the European Council, Charles Michel.

The Ukrainian presidency has also not confirmed this visit, which raises security issues.
