Carlos Queiroz is appointed coach of Qatar

The Qatar national team announced on Monday the appointment of Carlos Queiroz as coach, who will replace the Spaniard Felix Sanchez, writes Marca.

Sanchez made the Qataris the 2019 Asian champions and led them to the last World Cup where they fell short of their goals and failed to get through the group stage without winning a single game.

This makes Carlos Queiroz the sixth national team he has managed as a coach, after Portugal, South Africa, Iran, Colombia and Egypt.

Qatar will take part in the next Golden Cup, which will be held this summer in the United States of America. In addition, the Portuguese is aiming to defend the trophy in the Asian Cup, which will be held in January 2024.
