Lavrov did not provide any evidence for his claims.

And Vladimir Putin directly accused the USA and its allies of organizing the explosions on the Nord Stream gas pipelines.

In an interview with state television, Lavrov also said that the West is lying about Russia’s refusal to negotiate with Ukraine and will try to turn Moldova, Georgia and former Soviet states in Central Asia against Moscow.

On September 26, 2022, the Nord Stream 1 and 2 infrastructures built to transport Russian gas to Europe were damaged by underwater explosions near Bornholm Island in the Baltic Sea, sparking new tensions between the West and the Kremlin. The explosions occurred at the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines in Denmark’s exclusive economic zone.

A preliminary investigation into damage to two Nord Stream gas pipelines in the Danish part of the Baltic Sea shows that the leaks were caused by “heavy explosions,” Copenhagen police announced in October.

Natural gas leaks discovered on the Nord Stream gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea were caused by the detonation of explosive charges weighing hundreds of kilograms, Swedish Foreign Minister Ann Linde said.
