“Ukraine is facing a very difficult situation in the eastern region of Donetsk and needs faster deliveries and new types of weapons to counter Russian attacks,” the President of Ukraine said. Vladimir Zelensky.
“The situation is very difficult. Bakhmut, Solendar and other areas of the Donetsk region are under constant shelling from Russia,” he said in his video message at night.
“Russia wants to continue the war and deplete our forces. Therefore, we must make time our weapon. We need to speed things up, speed up deliveries and open up new weapon options for Ukraine,” he added.
The President of Ukraine also said that allowing Russia to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris is tantamount to indicating that “terrorism is somehow acceptable.”
“The efforts of the International Olympic Committee to bring Russian athletes back to the Olympics are attempts to tell the whole world that terrorism is acceptable to some extent,” Zelensky said.
The President of Ukraine stressed that Russia should not be allowed “to use (the Games) or any other sporting event as propaganda for its aggression or state chauvinism.”
