Norway will send German-made tanks to Ukraine as part of a group of Western arms suppliers, Norwegian Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gram told public broadcaster NRK on Wednesday.

He declined to say how many tanks Norway will supply.

His statement sounded almost simultaneously with the statement of US President Joe Biden that he would send 31 Abrams tanks to Ukraine.

Despite the fact that the Netherlands does not currently possess German-made Leopard 2 tanks, the Netherlands also announced on Wednesday that it is ready to purchase the tanks, which it is currently leasing, to send to Ukraine, CNN reports.

On Wednesday, Germany approved the shipment of Leopard tanks to Ukraine.

Britain was the first country to announce that it would send its Challenger 2 tanks, while Poland insisted that Berlin approve the shipment of its Leopard 2 tanks.
