The military court in Moscow decided to send Ivan Mertvyshev, the colonel of the Main Organizational and Mobilization Department of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, under house arrest, Meduza reports. The military man admitted that he had bought a washing machine from the military commission to hide that the commission was “very bad”.

According to Mommersant, cited by Meduza, Russian Colonel Mertvyshev was supposed to inspect the military commissariat in the Ramenka district of Moscow in November.

A week before the inspection, the colonel called the military commissar and informed him of the upcoming inspection, warning that, as he knew, the commissariat was “very bad” and it could affect his military career.

A Russian colonel asked the military commissar to buy him a washing machine worth at least 70,000 rubles, which is equivalent to more than 1,100 dollars, in order to avoid the consequences of control.

The commissar pretended to agree with Mertvyshev’s proposal, but to the defendant in the military counterintelligence department of the FSB.

The FSB detained a Russian colonel while he was going after a washing machine, which he demanded as a bribe.

The policeman now has a criminal record and has pleaded guilty. The investigative committee wants to check whether he has committed such actions before.
