Ukraine’s Russian-controlled Crimean peninsula was hit by a drone attack on Tuesday and Russian troops were “on alert,” Kremlin-appointed authorities said, AFP reported, citing News.ro.
“There is an attack by drones,” Mykhailo Razvoyaev, the governor of the Sevastopol administrative district of Crimea, imprisoned by Moscow, said in his Telegram post.
“Our air defense forces are preparing to act at this moment,” he said.
He claims that he has already “shot down” two drones.

Mykhailo Razvitiev claims that the objects of civil infrastructure were not damaged, and asks residents to “keep calm”.
The Russian fleet in the Black Sea, which is based in the port of Sevastopol in Crimea, suffered a “massive” attack by drones, the occupiers accused.
The attack, which damaged at least one vessel, prompted Moscow to briefly withdraw from the historic Istanbul Agreement on Ukrainian grain exports.
Russia annexed Crimea in 2014, and Kyiv has ambitions to get it back.
