“Ukraine has neither the resources, nor the military force, nor the support of the residents of Crimea for the promised offensive on the peninsula. The West will also make no real effort to help Ukraine in this endeavour. Therefore, the Kyiv authorities will not exceed the level of the announcement,” the head of the Defense and Security Committee of the Federation Council wrote in his Telegram channel.

Bondarev claims that Ukraine’s statements about its intention to return Crimea are “reckless and audacious”.

“Russia returned Crimea in the spring of 2014, because it is our original territory, its inhabitants themselves wanted to be together with our country. And the desire expressed by the authorities in Kyiv to return to the territorial status quo of February 2014 is not true. is nothing more than flirting with one’s own citizens and trying to convince them of an imminent victory, an attempt to raise the morale of the armed forces and put dust in the eyes of Western patrons in the hope of increased assistance from them.” Bondarev said.

Bondarev claims that the Crimean Peninsula belongs to Russia forever. This rhetoric was borrowed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who also declared that the four partially occupied Ukrainian territories he annexed — Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia — would still be part of Russia. Federation, although the Russian military has fled from some territories.

“Our Crimea is not just a slogan and a hashtag, it is an unchanging reality,” the deputy concluded.

Attacks on the Crimean Peninsula

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, said in August that Russia’s war against Ukraine and all of free Europe began with Crimea and should end with the liberation of Crimea, claiming that the presence of Russian occupiers on the peninsula is a threat to all of Europe and global stability.

The Kyiv leader believes that real peace, which will end Russia’s war against Ukraine, is possible only after the liberation of occupied Crimea.

In recent months, several attacks have been committed in Crimea, the main target of which was the Black Sea Fleet of Russia.

Ukraine admitted for the first time that at the end of October, its forces launched attacks on the Black Sea Fleet from Sevastopol in Crimea, CNN reports.

On November 5, Volodymyr Zelenskyi announced the launch of a campaign to raise funds for a fleet of maritime drones through the online platform United24, vehicles used in attacks on the Crimean peninsula.
