US NASAMS anti-aircraft systems are one hundred percent successful in intercepting Russian rockets in UkraineThis was announced today by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. NATO said a malfunctioning Ukrainian air defense system likely caused the explosion in Poland on Tuesday.
Austin, speaking at the start of a routine meeting about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine that was attended by dozens of defense secretaries, said the United States would work with Poland to gather more information about the explosion but did not hold responsibility.
It is noted that the incident in question occurred against the backdrop of massive Russian missile attacks on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure throughout yesterday, leaving millions of homes without electricity.
Russian rockets hit cities across the country, including Lvov (west), close to the Polish border.
