Earlier, the Ministry of Defense announced that it had completed the withdrawal of troops from Kherson and retreated to the western bank of the Dnieper. He mentioned that –despite reports to the contrary– During the withdrawal, Russia did not suffer losses either in personnel or in equipment.

The ministry declined to comment on claims by Ukrainian officials that Russian servicemen in Kherson were ordered to wear civilian clothes. Reuters was unable to estimate how many Russian soldiers are still in the city.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that “in total, more than 30,000 Russian servicemen and almost 5,000 pieces of weapons and military equipment have been withdrawn from the western bank of the Dnieper.”

According to pictures published by Ukrainian media, in the morning the Ukrainian flag was raised in the city center. At the same time, videos posted on social networks allegedly recorded the entry of the Ukrainian military into the city.
