Numerous photos of the Ukrainian military on social media show weapons and military equipment abandoned by Russian soldiers during the chaotic retreat from Kharkiv region, including tanks, armored vehicles, trucks and other “goods” that will now be used against the invading forces.

Some of the armored vehicles were destroyed in the battles by Ukrainian forces or even by the Russian military, so as not to fall into the hands of the enemy, although the reasons for their abandonment seem to be difficult to understand.

Some of the equipment, including a T-72BA tank, an armored vehicle of the Russian army, a Nona-SVK self-propelled mortar and a BM-21 Grad rocket launcher system, were captured near the city of Izyum, from where the Russian military withdrew. still escape at the weekend, when the scale of the Russian disaster in Kharkiv became obvious.

Back in April, the Ukrainian armed forces released videos showing captured Russian equipment being repaired for use against the invasion forces sent by Vladimir Putin to Ukraine on February 24.

The Russian military also left armored vehicles in good condition

Other photos published after the Russians fled Kharkiv show at least 7 captured MT-LB armored vehicles, two T-72 tanks and a destroyed BTR-82A. Last week, a video appeared on social media showing several Russian amphibious tanks getting stuck while trying to cross the Donets and being abandoned by the Moscow military.

Most of the vehicles were abandoned near or in the city of Izyum, the third-largest city in Kharkiv Oblast and a major rail hub used by the Russian armed forces to supply troops here and in neighboring Donetsk Oblast.

Interestingly, while some of the vehicles clearly sustained significant damage, others appear to be in good condition, likely requiring minimal repairs to be reused by the Ukrainian military.

The administrators of the Ukraine Weapons Tracker page say that they tried to avoid publishing images of captured vehicles that were previously shared, but the number of photos that have appeared since the Ukrainian terrorist attacks in Kherson is so large that it is possible that some were missed.

Photographs of vehicles seized by Ukrainian forces emerged after Kiev soldiers were filmed last week “circulating” positions in Kharkiv Oblast abandoned by the Russians, with Ukrainian troops displaying “goods” they left behind during the chaotic escape

Dima, a soldier fighting on the side of Ukraine, said in an April interview that:

“We have a joke in the Ukrainian army: the largest supplier of weapons to us is Russia.”
