Social media video showing a police officer in New Yorkhit a woman in the face, who falls almost unconscious on the sidewalk.
The tragic event took place in Harlem, New York, during the arrest of a 22-year-old man, who, according to the authorities, is accused of attempted murder.
As seen in a video shared by the Daily Mail, 19-year-old Tamani Krum approaches police who are trying to handcuff James Alvin. The girl is then seen arguing with the cops and one of them pushes her away and then lays her down on the pavement.
Officer Kento Kinsey, who claimed to have reacted after the 19-year-old girl attacked and hit him, then lifted her off the sidewalk and handcuffed her.
The NYPD charged the 19-year-old with assault in uniform, resisting arrest, obstructing authorities, and slapping a 27-year-old woman at the scene, all while taking no action against the officer who struck. Activists condemned the video after many social media users were outraged.
