
The White House claimed that the President’s plan to write off part of student loans Joe Biden help the US economy and rejected Republican criticism that it was a “gift” to the rich.
“This is not a concession to the rich,” said the White House domestic policy adviser. Susan Rice. “This has nothing to do with what his Republican critics are saying,” he said.
Speaking to reporters, Rice also said the government has yet to determine the cost of writing off student debt, explaining that it will depend on the number of people applying.
