Ukraine’s armed forces have again struck the key Antoniv bridge across the Dnipro, according to statements released Monday by Ukrainian officials and the Russian occupation authorities, cited by Meduza.

This was initially reported by the spokesperson of the operational command “South” of the Ground Forces of Ukraine, Nataliya Gumeniuk.

“The Antonovsky bridge is one of the transport highways that the Russians are trying to revive, but they understand that such a complex structure cannot be patched up with a bucket of concrete, that it needs significant repairs and technological processes. Therefore, we remind them of our presence from afar,” she said.

Later, the occupation authorities of the Kherson region, where the bridge is located, said that the Ukrainians fired at the bridge during its repair and killed two people who were working on the repair. Another 15 were injured, Russian media reported.

Another strike by HIMARS systems on the Antonivsky Bridge

Despite the fact that information about artillery fire on the bridge appeared on social networks, one of the Russian state news agencies, TASS, claims that this new attack was also carried out by Ukrainians using HIMARS launchers, which Ukraine received from the United States.

In recent weeks, the Ukrainian military has struck the Antonivskyi Bridge several times with American-made multiple rocket launchers to cut off the supply of Russian troops in the Kherson region in southern Ukraine.

In July and August, Kyiv’s armed forces also claimed to have “disabled” two more bridges across the Dnipro, a railway near the Antoniv bridge and a bridge in Novaya Kakhovka, another city in the Kherson region.
