Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia announced today that Moscow will take advantage of this nuclear arsenal only in “emergency situations” and that he is not interested in a direct confrontation between NATO and the United States.
Speaking at a press briefing, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ivan Nechaev said that nuclear weapons would be used as a “retaliatory” measure.
Russia’s defense minister said today that Moscow “does not need” to use nuclear weapons during its military campaign in Ukraine, calling media speculation that Moscow could use nuclear or chemical weapons in the conflict “completely false.”
