A new video posted on social media on Wednesday shows how Ukrainian drone operators involved in the war perfected a decoy technique to target Russian tanks.
The footage shows Ukrainians launching a grenade from a drone directly into the hatch of a Russian T-72B3 tank, causing the ammunition on board to detonate.

Another T-73B3 that collided with the truck was also hit, but was not damaged due to dynamic armor. pic.twitter.com/qwx9NGz8yW

The new video resembles another that the Ukrainian military shared in early July, in which they also managed to “throw” a grenade directly into the hatch of a tank, but from a lower height.

However, as the new images show, this technique was not always successful: the second tank targeted by the Ukrainians escaped almost unscathed due to its dynamic protective armor and the fact that the Ukrainian operators did not hit the hatch.
It is not clear whether this technique of launching grenades using commercial drones will also be effective in combat conditions, as all the footage that has appeared so far shows Russian tanks hitting their operators.
But it can be used to permanently disable some Russian tanks and other combat vehicles that are stationed in territories not under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Previously, the Ukrainian military also showed how to adjust grenades for launching with the help of bait, which is used by fishermen, which is where the name of the method came from.
#Ukraine: The force continues to work out ways to deliver munitions from commercial drones – this time adapting fish decoy bombs by placing conventional F-1/RGD-5 grenades inside them.
