The US is trying to drag out the conflict until Ukrainesaid the President of Russia Vladimir Putincalling US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan “a carefully planned provocation” and accusing Washington of trying to destabilize the world.
In his speech at the International Security Conference in Moscow, the Russian president said that Western countries want to expand a “NATO-type system” in the Asia-Pacific region.

“The situation in Ukraine shows that the US is trying to prolong the conflict. And they act in the same way, cultivating the possibility of conflict in Asia, Africa, Latin America,” he said.
“The American adventure with Taiwan is not just an irresponsible political trip, but part of a deliberate, conscious strategy to destabilize and create a chaotic situation in the region and the world,” he added.
This is “a brazen demonstration of their disrespect for the sovereignty of other countries and their international obligations,” the Russian president continued, condemning “a well-prepared provocation.”
Relations between the United States and Russia, which launched an attack on Ukraine and repeatedly condemned the supply of American weapons to Kyiv, are experiencing a period of great tension. The object of harsh sanctions from the West, Russia is trying to strengthen its relations with Asia and Africa, and especially with China.
Moscow has already called Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan in early August, which angered China, a “provocation” and assessed that Beijing has the right to take “the necessary measures to protect its sovereignty.”
Putin: The goal is to completely occupy the Donbass
Yesterday, Monday, the Russian president reaffirmed his goal for the Russian armed forces to completely take over the Donbass, almost six months after Moscow ordered what Moscow calls a “special military operation” and the West and Kyiv an unprovoked war.
Vladimir Putin assured the guests of the arms exhibition near Moscow that the Russian military was achieving the goals set in the so-called “people’s republics” of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
While Kyiv accuses Moscow of war crimes and a bloody occupation policy, Vladimir Putin once again stated that “the land of Donbass is being liberated step by step” from Ukrainian nationalists.
Mr. Putin recognized two Ukrainian regions, Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as independent states in February despite international protests, and then went to war with Ukraine on February 24.
Shoigu: We do not need to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said Tuesday that Russia does not need to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine.
Speaking at an international security conference in Moscow, Shoigu also said that military operations in Ukraine were being planned by the US and Britain and that NATO had “several times” increased its deployment of troops in Eastern and Central Europe.
It is noted that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky yesterday once again warned that in the event of a “catastrophe” at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine, which has been under Russian control since March, all of Europe would be at risk.
