
Three Syrians soldiers were killed and three wounded today as a result of Israeli strikes, according to the official Syrian news agency SANA.
“The Israeli enemy launched several rockets (…) on the outskirts of Damascus. This coincides with another attack directed at positions south of (province) Tartus, on the coast, after explosions were heard there.
Israel has been targeting Iranian or Iranian-backed targets in Syria for years, where Tehran has deployed forces in support of President Bashar al-Assad since the start of the war in the country in 2011.
The first ship to leave Ukraine under an agreement to resume grain exports from the country two weeks ago is approaching the Syrian port of Tartus today, two shipping sources told Reuters earlier.
