A major wildfire rages in Berlin this morning following an explosion at a police ammunition depot, firefighters said, stressing they are struggling to bring the situation under control.
“There is a fire in the Grunewald forest, west of the city, and explosions have been recorded,” firefighters said.

“The fire spread over an area of 15,000 square meters, first to the police ammunition and explosives depot, and then to the surrounding forest,” they added.
“The situation is confusing, the fire continues to spread uncontrollably in the forest,” an AFP spokesman explained.
