Big Fire It broke out at noon on Thursday at Valukli Greek Hospital (Balikli in Turkish), in the Yendi Kule district of Istanbul.

The fire started for an unknown reason on the roof of the building and quickly spread.

The building was immediately evacuated, and photos emerged of rescuers and hospital staff evacuating patients on gurneys and stretchers. There are no reports of deaths or injuries yet.

About 80 patients have been transferred to other hospitals in the city.

Thick smoke, which is visible throughout Istanbul, has covered the area, some citizens have had breathing problems.

Strong firefighters and police, as well as ambulances, arrived on the scene. Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu is also present.

Valukli Greek Hospital was founded in the 18th century and continues to operate to this day, mainly for elderly patients from the Greek community in Turkey.
