“It is simply disgusting when former leaders of major powers with European values work for Russia, which is fighting against these values,” President Zelenskyy said in a video speech on Wednesday night.

Presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak previously criticized the former German chancellor, calling him “the voice of the Russian tsarist court” and saying that any peace deal with Moscow would depend on a ceasefire and the withdrawal of Russian troops.
