The inspector handed down a positive verdict to the companies under his control based on the results of the investigation into the death of a forestry worker in the summer of 2023. On Friday, DGA officers, coordinated by the Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office at the Buzeu Court, conducted three searches at the home of the labor inspector of the SSM Department of the Territorial Labor Inspectorate of Buzeu, the administrator of the commercial company, as well as at the secondary headquarters and workplace of the respective commercial company.

Also, arrest warrants were issued for three people in the bribery investigation.

The inspector of ITM Buzău was detained by the prosecutor’s office for bribery and is to be brought to court with a request for preventive arrest.

“Following an industrial accident resulting in the death of a person, in August 2023, during the investigation of an industrial accident that occurred within the framework of economic activities carried out within the company, a labor inspector from ITM Buzău committed acts contrary to his official duties “connections, with the aim of providing favorable conclusions that do not correspond to the actual reality, with the aim of releasing the administrator of the commercial company from criminal responsibility”, – state the prosecutors.

In exchange for a favorable decision, the inspector “refueled for free at one of the workplaces of the commercial company where the accident occurred.”

The Buzeu court has to rule on the request of the prosecutor’s office for the preventive arrest of a civil servant.
