For the first time, Sibiu City Hall uses a special tree care technique. Their crown will have a certain rectangular shape in order to be distant from overhead engineering networks and from building facades.

“Tree care technique applied for the first time on Oțelarilor street in Sibiu! In special terms, this is called “pollarding”. In practice, this involves a more pronounced intervention in the crown of the tree with cuts that will give it a certain shape – in this case, a rectangular shape will be adopted,” the City Hall of Sibiu announced on Sunday, as quoted by News. ro.

The institution specifies that in order to achieve this geometric shape, a frame made of bamboo will be installed on the crown of the trees, which will act as a template that will guide the formation of the crown in the following years.

The City Hall of Sibiu announces that this technique will be applied to 40 trees in Ocelarilor street, so that the trees are of a certain size and distance from the air engineering networks and the facades of the buildings, as well as to avoid the extension of the area. roots that can damage buildings, sidewalks, and roadways.

The work will begin on Monday, March 25, and will be carried out by specialists from the Association of Foresters of Romania.
