Ovidiu Kupsha, AUR’s candidate for mayor of Constanta, says in a Facebook video that a person suffering from depression “didn’t suffer enough beatings when he was young.”
During the debate, which was broadcast live on his Facebook page on Friday night, the politician mentions a project that “someone was doing” for people suffering from depression, saying in context that in his time “depression was treated with beatings “.
What Ovidiu Kupsha says in the video:
- “Like the town hall giving money for the depressed, this was a project that someone implemented… What, sir, if you are depressed, the town hall should come and give you some money so that you are not depressed anymore.
- You weren’t spanked enough when you were little! You know that at one time you treated depression with beatings.
- Now, everything, everyone is depressed, and young people are depressed. Let the mayor’s office come and give me some money, because I’m depressed now…”
On Saturday, the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) presented its candidates for the local elections in Constanta, respectively Ovidiu Kupša, already announced for the mayor’s office of Constanta, and businessman Mohammad Murad for the position of chairman of the Constanta County Council.
