The metro can stop working from May 15, in the absence of a subvention and approval of the budget, because it will no longer have financial means to pay debts to employees and third parties, said the president of the Trade Union Syndicate, Marian Artimon. “There is Article 73, Part 8 of the Budget Law, which does not allow you to draw up a budget if the losses are at least twice the amount by which you increase the salary. There is also this resolution, according to which, if the budget of a commercial company is not approved within 120 days after the approval of the budget law, this company is no longer entitled to a subsidy. It is up to the Government to change this decision of the Government. (…) If you don’t have an approved budget, stop giving subsidies. How to function without a subsidy? This norm must be removed from the Government’s resolution (…)”, said Maryan Artimon.

He stressed that over the next period of time, the USLM will do everything in its power, according to the law, with the means it has as a union, “to bring to the attention of the public that this is the greatest risk, because on May 15, the subway has to stop work, CFR Călători must stop working because they will not pay their debts.”

According to him, the main problems of “Metrorex” are chronic underfunding and lack of personnel. Currently, Metrorex has 5,050 employees, the deficit is more than 800 employees.
