People’s interest in becoming prosumers is so great, not only in Romania, but all over the world, that there is a risk that we will not have enough PV panels, and the delivery of the equipment will be delayed for more than a year, says Teodora. Preoteasa, State Secretary of the Ministry of European Investments and Projects. She believes that this problem can be overcome only by building factories for the production of photovoltaic panels and batteries in the EU.
“The Administration of the Environmental Protection Fund will launch a photovoltaic project this year (Casa Verde Photovoltaice – no. We, at the Ministry of Investment and European Projects, will launch two tenders through RepowerEU, through which we support the same process of installing photovoltaic panels, batteries and energy-efficient at home
If we, together with the Ministry of Natural Resources, launch projects at the same time – I do not mean overlapping the calendar, but the need – we will all have new panels. How are we going to protect these panels?” Teodora Preoteasa said during the ZF Power Summit.
“This is happening at the level of the EU, not only at the level of Romania, everyone is moving in this direction. We will have delays in the delivery of the panels, possibly more than a year. If this happens, we will likely lose money from PNRR. This is what we must keep in mind.
According to her, it is necessary to support the production in the EU of photovoltaic panels, batteries and heat pumps, as well as other technologies that help us achieve the goals of neutralizing climate change.
“Without protection and capacity building in Europe, we will not be able to achieve this goal. It’s impossible,” she said.
Record budget for Casa Verde photovoltaics
For his part, the Minister of the Environment, Mircea Fecet, present at the same event, revealed that this year we have a record budget for Casa Verde photovoltaics, 2 billion lei, money that comes from the trading of greenhouse gas certificates.
“This will have an impact on the environment and will mean lower bills for those who choose to become consumers,” Fesche said.
Last year, the budget of the program was 1.75 billion lei.
“We also have programs for local authorities, for public lighting, because there are still town halls that use sodium, mercury lamps, specific to old technologies, which are big consumers of electricity. Funds for energy efficiency of public buildings. And also make the heating system more efficient.
The efficiency of heating systems in these millions of houses is 20-25%, and there are technologies that allow you to get an efficiency of 80% for heating sources,” the Minister of Ecology added.
