Alexandru Ştefănescu, literary critic and novelist, was born on November 6, 1947 in Lugozh. Alex. Stefanescu is the author of thousands of literary and critical articles. He has also written plays and scripts for television, such as the script for TVR’s The Impossible Marriage in 2000.

He directed the show “Cubic Meter of Culture” broadcast on Realitatea TV (2004-2005), which won him the Romanian Association of Television Broadcasters (APTR) talk show award in 2004. He was also a producer on TVR Cultural, the show “The History of Contemporary Romanian Literature as Told by Alex Stefanescu” (2007-2009), for which he won the APTR Award for Cultural Shows in 2008.
