The ATP tournament in Los Cabos (Mexico) remained without a crowned champion, Stefanos Tsitsipas was eliminated in the semifinals of the competition. Also, Saturday turned out to be unsuccessful for the main favorite Oleksandr Zverev.

Mexico’s fourth favorite Kasper Ruud scored a crucial victory over Stefanos Tsitsipas. The Norwegian won in straight sets, 6-4, 7-6(4), and thus qualified for the final act of the ATP 250 tournament.

In the other match of the day, the surprise was even greater. Alexander Zverev (the main favorite) was defeated by Jordan Thompson in three sets after a marathon match.

The eighth seed in Mexico, the Australian (ranked 40th in the ATP rankings) proved once again that he has started the year well by adding another big name to his 2024 list to beat (he reached the quarter-finals in Brisbane and to Rafael Nadal).

7-5, 4-6, 7-6(2) in favor of Jordan and Zverev lost his place in the final after a match that lasted three hours and 40 minutes.
